New Data File Assistant Step 10: Select File Access and Protocol
In this step, youíll specify how you want your data file to be opened when you first create it. Choose Single-user Access if you wish to limit access to the data file until you complete setup, for example. If you choose the Single-user Access option, no one else will be able to open the new data file until you exit the file.
Choose Multi-user Access if you want your coworkers to have access to the data file right away. If you choose the Multi-user Access option, you must also specify the network protocol that will be used to manage the way you and other users will work with one another and the MYOB AccountEdge data file.
The protocols that appear in the drop-down list are those that are compatible with MYOB AccountEdge; they may or may not be installed on your computer.
You can choose between AppleTalk and TCP/IP protocols.
If youíre unsure about which protocols might be available on your computer or if youíd like a better understanding of these protocols, see Working with your data file on a network Overview.
The selections you make in this step apply only to the first time you open your new data file. When you open the data file in the future, you can make other selections if you like.
